Best Hotel Sustainability Progress Award
|Fushifaru Maldives, a luxurious, boutique Resort located in Lhaviyani Atoll took the ‘Best Hotel Sustainability Progress award this year.
As islands scattered as dots in the Indian Ocean, we have been putting efforts into sustainability in recent years. Especially in Tourism and hospitality the main income sector for the Maldives. Thus it was no surprise but a privilege of course to receive the ‘Best Hotel Sustainability Progress’ award at the TUI Global Hotel Awards 2023.

Fushifaru Maldives won the award
Fushifaru Maldives, a luxurious, boutique Resort located in Lhaviyani Atoll took the ‘Best Hotel Sustainability Progress award this year. The award was presented in a ceremony held in Berlin at a worlds leading travel show. in addition, the fair marks the networking point for industry professionals and a major attraction for visitors.
Other sustainability awards
The TUI Global Hotel Awards, an annual awarding event celebrates the world’s exceptional hotels, destinations, and resorts. The award also marks the best destination and best resort. The sustainability awards included were,
- Best hotel sustainability planet award which awarded to Creta Maris Resort
- Best hotel sustainability progress award awarded to Fushifaru Maldives
- Sustainability innovation award awarded to Atlantica hotels and resorts
Fushifaru Maldives was recognized for its carbon footprint-reducing efforts, preserving marine life, and supporting the local community. The resort has implemented a range of green initiatives. Coral propagation project, planting trees, eliminating plastic bags, and promoting sustainable cooking practices.
