Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) joins Palm Tour and Honeymoon Resort, two South Korean travel agencies, to promote the campaign “Visit Maldives the Romantic Side of Life”. The online and offline campaign lasts three months promoting the Maldives as a romantic safe destination for honeymoons and holidays.

Palm Tour and Honeymoon resorts based in Seoul are among the most famous Korean travel agencies when traveling abroad.  The award-winning palm tour offers many Maldivian products with flights and resort options selling 11,000 room nights in 2019. Honeymoon Resort has 10 years of history with the Maldives sending over 400,000 tourists and it specialized in resorts and transportation to resorts.

The online components of the campaign include developing exclusive Maldives promotional advertisements; banners on their websites, social media of both companies, and paid advertisements on Naver, Google, and YouTube.

The offline part of the campaign consists of displaying Maldivian products and advertisements in fairs, providing travel guidelines and latest requirements and travel advisories, physical advertisement banners in different locations, lucky draws, giveaway packages, and specific advertisements to attract those looking forward to honeymoons and newlyweds.

The campaign is in line with the MMPRC strategy to promote Maldivian tourism in South Korea, increasing bookings from the country and maintaining the presence of the Maldives in the country’s tourism market. South Korea was the 3rd largest source of tourism from the Asia-Pacific (APAC) market prior to the COVID pandemic, counting 7,191 tourist arrivals as of May 15th this year.

MMPRC being the official responsible body for promoting the Maldives has organized and participated in many activities targeting the South Korean Market including a live campaign with Singapore Airlines, honeymoon fairs, print media advertising campaigns with outdoor advertising campaigns, and participating in South Korean Virtual Roadshow where SMM and Digital Ad Campaigns are still ongoing.

MMPRC continues to promote the Maldives in South Korea this year with more plans to be carried out in near future.
